Haaay Guyssss.

So, I haven't updated in a long time... it's actually kind of ridiculous how much less I post art here, now that I'm in art school. That's probably because all of my time is taken up by working on typography assignments and logo design and whatnot, which isn't really the kind of stuff I want to post here... It's really frustrating, because lately I've really been feeling inspired to do art, but I have absolutely no time because I'm in probably the busiest semester that I will ever experience at this school... But at least I can post my illustration projects.

I've actually just been going through my gallery and cleaning it up, and I've realized how crappy all my old art is. On the bright side, that means that I've definitely improved. But the other thing that I found is that, conceptually, I feel like my work in high school was a lot stronger. Looking back at the ideas I had for my pictures back then, they are SO much more interesting and thought provoking than what I'm doing now! Which is strange, because I feel like my discretion, perspective and judgment in general on art and most other things has come so far from how I was back then... But I guess the issue must be that I have really specific projects that I have to do that don't necessarily allow me to spread my wings conceptually. The fact that I'm always worrying about the opinions of my instructors is also an issue...

Anyway, based on the quality of the work I have here, and the direction I want to go in with my art, professionally and otherwise, I'm seriously considering creating another DA account. I've realised that, especially for someone focusing on illustration and character design, I SERIOUSLY need to start thinking about networking, and starting to actually make some money off my work. So I want to make an account that better shows off my skills and style (whatever that may be). But it's not going to happen for a while. At the soonest this summer, cause I have literally no time for that kind of thing right now. But anyway, I thought I might give anyone who cares a bit of a heads up about that.

I'd really like to give commissions a shot for the first time, although (even if there were actually people who wanted to commission me) I don't really have the time right now. That's another thing I'd like to do this summer. I guess I'd better work my butt off this summer so I can actually achieve something and make some sorely needed money!
